Why Tallow Body Butter?
Most lotions are mostly water. Pick up a bottle of commercial moisturizer and the first ingredient is almost always aqua — water, bulked up with emulsifiers, preservatives, and synthetic thickeners to make it feel like something. It sits on top of your skin. It evaporates. You reapply. That's the business model.
Beef tallow doesn't work that way. Tallow is one of the most biocompatible moisturizers available — its fatty acid profile closely mirrors your skin's own natural sebum. That means it absorbs quickly and deeply, delivering real hydration that lasts, without the greasy residue of petroleum-based products.
Our whipped tallow body butter is handmade in small batches in Indian Valley, Idaho with just three ingredients:
- Grass-fed beef tallow — naturally rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K, delivered in a fat-soluble form your skin can actually use*. No synthetic vitamin additives needed.
- Sweet almond oil — lightweight, fast-absorbing, and packed with vitamin E for an extra layer of nourishment.
- Pure essential oil — real plant-derived scent, never fragrance oil. (Or nothing at all, if you prefer unscented.)
No water. No fillers. No petroleum. No parabens, phthalates, or preservatives. You can read the whole label in three seconds — and pronounce every word.
A little goes a long way. Warm a small amount between your palms and apply to damp skin after a shower for best absorption. Your skin already knows what to do with it.
Why Hawaiian sandalwood? Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood has a warm, grounding, velvety wood aroma that's both nurturing and centering. It's traditionally valued for promoting the appearance of smooth, youthful skin and reducing the look of blemishes. Our sandalwood essential oil comes from the Kona Sandalwood Reforestation Project in Hawaii — harvested only from dead or dying trees to preserve ecological balance.
